Actually disgusting made me vomit in my mouth

I picked this book up after my professor mentioned it in class. To say it is one of the most poignant collections of experiences would be an understatement. Each page is a new story, a new life we get to touch to a brief second. We share in their sadness, their pain, and desire to help. A kaleidoscope of perspectives converging at a shared abhorrence of war.

She’s gonna fall in love with the commie and she’s gonna fall in love with the nazi. How do I know this? Simply because another character has noted that they happen to be hot. Oh and did I mention that her dad is definitely with the resistance. Someone needs to tell the author that you can hear when someone is walking behind you on COBBLESTONE STREETS.

It’s the kind of book where you have to stop every half hour to go vomit in disgust

Trying to enjoy this without letting some anachronistic elements shake me out. Her prose falls flat at times but I enjoy the plot thus far.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say this is one of the most incredible things I’ve ever read. Virginia just blew me out the water. Her style is so unique and every page scrambles what you think you know. Seriously a masterpiece that deserves dedicated time and space in your life.
