The reviews were good - lots of them. And i think i may have liked this more if i read it - but im listening to it, and i hate the way the narrator is reading this story. So because of that reason, im barely getting through it, when all i want to do it quit. I can’t explain the way she talks….. when she’s voice changing its great. But narrating is horrible. Consider reading it instead of audio.

I’m having a hard time finishing this story. There are to many loose story threads that are just left dangling that never get pulled on. It’s also kinda boring. There are two time lines going and the 2 main characters are in both timelines. It doesn’t come out and say at this point in the story but she’s Reincarnated. And I’m sure he’s the same person Lives forever. Might DNF. Not sure yet

This book is so boring. And it’s way too far fetched. I get that’s it’s a fictional book in a make believe time but It’s annoying how the FMC is supposedly starved from 8weeks on her own with no food except 2 eggs a day with vegetables broth and some how the day her saviours show up and give her meat she can run laps all day and “train” for 8hours. For f sakes. It’s ridiculous. DNF

It started out really good - was enjoying the storyline and the character dynamics. But there are a few plot lines that didn’t make sense. Some fell away that would have been better, some didn’t add up (which leads to how dumb the FMC is). And then it just kept going on and on and on. I already know how it will end. It could have done that sooner than dragging on. imo. I’ll give it 3stars

I’m annoyed. I very closed to DNF this book.

It started off so-so. I’m half way and it’s a bit better than originally thought.

“Before I met you, I had everything I ever wanted. I was living a great life. And then you destroyed it.” “I destroyed your life?” “Yes,” he said. “Because nothing else tastes the same. Nothing and no one can satisfy me. My thoughts cannot escape you.”

Can already predict what will likely happen.

I KNEW IT! You gave it up and then instant devastation. The betrayal!!!!!

Don’t do it!!! Can’t you see they set you up! You’re gonna lead them right to them/him! Omg - i can’t put this down. I love a dystopian story

Here we go, will he forgive her. Lets jump in Part 3 - the deep.

Oooooohh. I adore this story already. Only 1/3 in and chapter 11 and I’m dieing to read straight through. I’m already hypothesizing how this will go down - and i can’t wait for it to happen. Book 2 is released today.

It’s good - but it’s sooooo slow without much action. I’ve already experienced 500 years and yet; it’s just putsing by without much omph. How can a person with immortality live 500 and not even kiss a man or can hardly hold his hand. I get it, your birth marks are what hold you back but come on!!!! Your body must stir at the sight of some men to feel the need to be loved and cherished. I’m bored

This book is so confusing. I don’t have a clue what’s going on. Is the writer purposefully trying to make it vague and unclear? It’s really annoying

I picked this back up and I’m so freaking irritated by this book. How many times does Ivy need to be tricked into believing everyone is either dead or she’s dead and they’ve moved on without her. She’s so freaking weak - I’ve decided to DNR the rest of this. I loved the first book but the second is driving me insane.

Hot dammmmmm. I am loving this book. Can’t get enough of it. I had a theory but now I’m not so sure. I hope I’m wrong.

Holy Shizzzzz, that went hot, deranged and dirty real fast - was not expecting it so early on….

Ugh. I loved book 1 and had high hopes for book 2. I’m 35% in and am annoyed. It’s super slow and ivy is so freaking annoying. I’m hoping it picks up more. There is not enough action happening. Also ivy doesn’t speak up enough and i hate that.

Gawd dammit. I didn’t last 5min until i caved. I’m also a Fiend for whiskey. Ughhh

Okay so i think i hate this book. It made me sick with anxiety reading it and i hate that feeling. It was frustrating and infuriating and a rollercoaster of emotions. If you also enjoy reading all the hurts then this is for you. 66% in and I’m like how much more of this turmoil is there. But then i get to the end and now it’s from his POV. Can i do it all over again, im not sure i can stomach it.

So I’m 84% in and I’m enjoying the story - but I’m also somewhat confused. Like I’m missing some of the storyline (paragraphs are missing) because sometimes what they say is going over my head. Or it’s not making sense. Maybe it’s me

I read for fun. Not for torture. There is a reason i stick to a specific genre. When i branch out a bit it’s excruciating for me. I generally don’t read romance because it’s annoying but also anguish. I’m vibrating with anger. With rage. But with longing and heartache. I hate it. Why do i torture myself with all these feelings. I need to stop torturing myself with love and heartache.

Omg - like seriously!!! The angst, then torment , the stubbornness. The wasted time and missed opportunity.

I’m loving it. And can’t believe i have to wait until May to read book 2.

I smell treachery in the air.

Okay. Here we go. I hope i don’t regret this.

4% in and i already know im gonna like this book.

I’m 42% in and it’s not very good. I’m on the verge of putting it in the DNF pile. I don’t like the way she wrote it in the 3rd person view. And it doesn’t really make a ton of sense in terms of not a lot of backstory and feels like she’s pulling details out along the way. I’m positive i won’t move onto the rest of the books in the series so I’m gonna pause here for a while and pick up another

This is my first read of 2026 - i really want to read The Ascended and it sounds like i should start with this trilogy first (which is also uncompleted at this time) and yes i know im breaking my (don’t you darn start an incomplete series) rule but damn it’s been hard to
Ignore that rule sometimes. I’ll let you know if it’s worth breaking the rule or not.

Okay - so i caved and bought book 2. I didn’t realize that book 2 was not on KU and i couldn’t wait the 12 weeks from the Library. Hope this is just as entertaining to read as book 2.
