Deeply dense and seemingly attainable but rather difficult in practice. The seed-stage, that is.

What can I do except repeat that these are nice, interesting stories?

Thar was a really interesting chapter that peeled back the reasons Russia is at war with Ukraine. Makes it sound like Putin is being reasonable. Hmm.

Nice stories.

Getting more interesting now that he's finished with the firat three or four chapters of defining terms.

It's the 18th of January and so all my attention is on the Murlis, which this book is full of.

Good story, wrong time.

Some chapters are a lot better than others. The ones I don't like seem to just repeat the same point again and again in slightly different ways. Yawn. The better ones give me new knowledge in each section. There aren't many of these in this book, though.

I could well be persuaded to think that I'm enjoying this book.

Repetition, repetition, repetition on repetition, repetition, repetition.

Getting into these characters now in the sense that some of them are nice (in a brutal, bloodthirsty kind of a way) and I'll be sad to see them die.

I'd have to read the originals to assess how good these tales are. Moderately entertaining so far.

At first it was a mere recitation of 'facts' but now it's more like stories with very limited dialogue. Much better.

Plodding towards some obvious conclusion I think.

I perceive this to be politics, but there may be enough sociology in it to save for me.

Why do I feel such a tremendous resistance to reading this book?

People-bashing is not my favourite occupation, nor is reading about it, no matter how entertaining the author is.
