I really really liked the last few pages of chapter 3. really really.

Whoops I’m reading this by accident but I always love a comic anthology so no complaints here! This is sort of like the NYT anthology I DNFed earlier this year, except the joy is in the repeating themes expressed thru deeply varying art styles. Love it!

I'm loving it so much! Evidence that you can check out one million books from the library and the one you happen to pick up on the way out the door and run back to check-out will always be the ONE that is the most engaging read. Yippee!

sooooo... the villains being part of an "anti-capitalist, anti-fascist organization [that] is as far left as you can get" (257) is maybe not the flex the author clearly thought it was... immediately goes on to say they want the purge to happen....whuhuhuh?

so back and forth on whether this is good or bad. why has every girl in this book died. (except the final girl) and AFTER... the first and only guy (so far) died. Seems like such an oversight for a book that's about horror ANALYSIS. ...also. why are we suddenly adopting new formatting... 179 pages into the book? I really thought this was a (Very) advanced copy. waiting to the end to. decide. horror can surprise u

Interesting to have the inciting incident of the story occur at the 50% mark ... I AM enjoying this in some ways, not enjoying in others, AND it is very.... it very much so does not conform to narrative checkpoints.

In Chapter 2, liking it so far but a little afraid of how much it seems that the novel will rest on personhood and personal experience... enjoying it nonetheless... Chapter 1 is all about the innate connection btwn queer people and nature particularly children and nature, especially in the ways of being unidentifiable... but now chapter 2 is about the call to education beCUZ nobody knows about queer nature science...

Anyway I'm enjoying So Thirsty. Kind of like a Scavenger Hunt for vampire clues. Plotwise lacking but still plenty of time to catch up. Lately I've been thinking about the Brandon Taylor 'try to bore me' essay and. I am very far from bored. lots of potential to go, I think!

all my fav characters are busy getting up to shenanigans why did i find this to be the most boring book of all on my first time around....
