I've gotten really sick of how every fantasy story does the same worldbuilding schtick of "Long ago there were giants in this land but now they have all passed into legend" so colour me pleasantly surprised that this book is instead built around "how the f*** are we going to deal with all these stupid giants??"

When I'm visualizing scenes in this book, I can only picture them as an old animated movie. But not like classic Disney-style, more like those oddball 80s dark fantasy movies with rotoscoping and painted backgrounds that traumatized millennials when they were kids. Good stuff.
