I tried to read this book a handful of times but could not/can not get beyond page 50…maybe I just do not care for the earnest attempts at humourous musings of a white man writing about white women of privilege whose biggest “problem” revolves around their breakfast service being cut. Could the stakes be any lower or is this meant to be satire? I found the writing more dull than watching paint dry.

Oooft I don’t think I give any fucks about Joe Sharky. Reading Sharky referred to as Sharky 11teen million times in the first 60 odd pages is enough to make anyone’s eyeballs fall out of their face. An old white dude laments the loss of his youth while banging a woman nearly half his age? Jesus, take the wheel! Literally cuz Sharky is a drunk driver who kills a local guy and no one cares. Stick a fork in this!
