1/3 of this book so far is just porridge oats set up for something mildly interesting that the first book probably did better. its so painfully juvenile, made worse by all the references to dildos and rape, its like baby's first bit of edge and I think shans style might only work as a vessel for some of the greatest childrens literature of all time, but terrrrrrible in the adult space.
