Reminiscent of Don Quixote.

I know it’s a very small thing, but I’m kind of put off by the Frank Underwood/House of Cards epigraph.

“But let’s say we do invent super intelligent AIs that can hack computers [✔️], commandeer CCTV cameras and spy on people, control defense systems, and even generate new diseases [✔️]—we’ll have a formula for the end of the world as we know it.”

Just read an articlerelated to this, this morning. Hair raising.

“So the enjoyment of God and the desire to fellowship with Him and to worship Him are certainly important dimensions of our love to God. But the most important dimension is our wholehearted obedience: our desire to obey Him with all our heart, soul, and mind.”

Enjoyment is not primary. Obedience > emotion as the measure of our love for God.

“And all the power of devils, all the power of the world, and all the enemies of the Christian, shall not be able to pluck out of the hand of Jesus Christ one single soul who has been brought by the Spirit’s teaching to true union with Christ, and for whom Jesus Christ intercedes.”

Christ died for all people, unconditional election 👍 I guess I’m not a five-pointer 🙃 nor it seems was Ryle.
