Reading slowly to enjoy, however with each new read I feel the need to rush and finish. The concept is absolutely lovely but the book is thus far is full of shameless self promotion and bragging, hatred geared towards fat fans, a lack of respect to women...the bits with actual history are great and it's funny at times - but I certainly have less respect for the authors as people.

After reflection, I've changed my 2017 goal of reading 60 books to 45. I plan on reading lots of classics this year, re-reading Lord of the Rings as well as (as soon as I've finished Emma) diving in to Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (so my average page number this year will be 600-800 rather than 350). It's about savouring the book, not how many I can rush through. Happy reading!
