I lived in the Southwest and know quite a bit of the history of the area. This story is really very interesting.

This is indeed a slow read, but it is interesting. This family is so famous and I have never known anything about them or how that empire got started. This is fictional, but informative.

Not a smooth go so far. The back and forth is jarring. I hope it gets better.

It is an interesting story so far. I did not know that they built a railroad to cross Panama before the canal was built. This story is set in 1860.

An interesting story that is said to be based on real people. I didn't know much about that part of the settlement of the US. Some of it was hard to believe, and the ending was very abrupt.

It was a very good story. I enjoyed the hunt to connect the suitcase to the owner. It held my interest to the very end.

This is an interesting story and tells the history of the changes in land ownership in Ireland. The characters are interesting and the book was entertaining. Not wonderful, but interesting.

Judith Arthur is finished with An American Princess: The Many Lives of Allene Tew
I knew about Jamestown, NY. It is near Buffalo and I lived there at one time. It is famous these days because Lucille Ball was from there, but the story of how it was founded and how important it was at one time, was interesting. Allene Tew was a very interesting person and her story was one I had never heard about before. Her ups and downs through life were mostly sad events, but she managed to stay on top.

This was a very interesting story about a Singer Sewing Machine. I loved reading it. My mother made me clothes for years with a Singer Featherweight and I have one now. The characters were interesting and I am still thinking about this story.

Judith Arthur is finished with The Silver Music Box (Silver Music Box, #1)
Just loved this story. Even though it was somewhat predictable, it was a heartwarming novel to read. I see that it is going to be a series. Not sure what that means, but I liked the topic and was not wrung out like I am sometimes with the terrifying situation for the the jewish population in Nazi Germany. I see that one of the reviews says it was gentle and I think that is a good description.

This is progressing very slowly. I am aware of the history of the early times in Australia so I am willing to stay with it in the hope that it will move along.

I thought this was a good story, but not all that realistic. It held my interest all the way through and I am glad I read it.
