Oh my word, what a slog this book has become! It's my first read in the fantasy genre and I've enjoyed the first two thirds.
Now we've reached the readying-for-battle portion of the book and I've come to understand why fantasy novels have to include maps and diagrams of family lineage and definitions of the players and pronunciation of names. Zzzzzzzz.

My least favorite of the entire Longmire series. The book reads as if an entirely different author wrote it. I was one quarter of the way into the book before I recognized Longmire's voice.
I found the story itself disjointed and, as others have pointed out, lacking the grounding presence of Moretti and Standing Bear.

Abandoned. Dreadful book.

Very slow read for me. The book is great but there's a lot to absorb: history, culture, plot. I really like it!
