Am I imaging things or is the Alice character a play on Alice in Wonderland? Her experiences at the party mirrored that story for me. But I've only just started this book so we'll see where it goes!

Shelly is starting The Allure of Elsewhere: A Memoir of Going Solo
I'm starting to lose interest in this because it's so heavy on the family history and I'm just not as into that. I am enjoying the camping portions. I find myself skipping the family history chunks though.

I'm a little over halfway and still not sure how I feel about this one. It's part sci-fi, horror, mystery, I don't know. My library has it filed under general fiction but that doesn't feel accurate. I'm also not into any of the characters. There's too many of them in the main mystery solving group. It feels like Scooby Doo, minus the dog. I'll keep plugging away to see what happens but so far it's just okay.

Shelly is starting A Psalm for the Wild-Built (Monk & Robot, #1)
This is a reread to give my brain a little break after a dense sci-fi novel. Love this cozy book!

Okay, this is much more science heavy sci-fi than I normally read and it's quite long (by my standards) but despite that I am really enjoying it! The characters are interesting and (some of them are) likeable. The dynamic between the two main characters on the ship is unique and heartwarming, for lack of a better term. I can see why this book keeps getting recommended to me!

I'm about halfway through and I am loving this. Female rage is soothing to me right now.

This book took a spicy turn that I was not expecting. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm on the last section of the book so I'm going to keep going but I've got the ick. Otherwise this book has been really compelling and I want to know what happens.

Halfway through this book and just gotta say....WTF!? I had to put it down a couple of times because it's so grotesque. I mean, wow. I can't decide if I love it or hate it but it's making me feel strong feelings. It's an experience!

This book is beautifully written but it's very long for a middle grade novel. 400+ pages!

I'm trying to like this book but I'm getting bogged down by all the scripture and names and who is married or related to who. May be DNF'ing this one because I'm not enjoying it all that much.

Real talk: I don't think I'm smart enough to read this book. This book is like being in college and I do not mean that as a compliment. This book is like sitting through an 8 a.m. lecture. Most of it sounds like words you've heard before but you're sure you keep dozing off because none of those words make any sense in the order they are presented to you. I've heard this gets better about 100 pages in, so. Onward.
