The premise, while intriguing, is not well executed. You can tell when the conversation stops being between Ian and Poe during the podcast episode and becomes Poe speaking at the reader. It throws you out of the experience with all of the unnecessary flowery language. I want raw emotion. I want to be scared alongside of Poe, but I can’t experience that when being spoken at. It should feel like a podcast.
