I’ve read at least another book (225 pages) in manuscripts that I can’t count towards my reading count 😩 I’d be fine with this being my everyday though. oh, to be an editor!

I absolutely cannot wait for a peer of mine to publish. Their works always has a way of making a heavy week feel light. Silent supporter in their creative endeavors, though secondary to the amazing work they do within their major.

In complete understanding that I am not the target audience for this book, I find myself very curious on the work of the translation.

I want to start exploring authors in totality. Typically, I’ll read a few books of an author and then move on to the next area of interest. However, I want to start getting a feel for an authors progression and voice for better conversational points.

Where else is a better place to start than Toni Morrison?

Only to be kind of disappointed. The conclusive opinion was that Ruth had abused Milkman through the activity that earned him the name, and that she is incestuous.

Huh?

I don’t believe the incestuous tones of this book were prevalent before Milkman x Hager and Macons disgusting logic for beating Ruth. I was honestly too ruffled to speak in class.

Macons distaste for Doctor better be better elaborated then this disturbing picture he is attempting to paint about his relations with his daughter.

And also a reason for the mom to relocate her daughters as soon as possible. With the way he is thinking, I would never leave him around a female relative since no bounds exist.

Such a misogynistic weak minded man.

already this novel has me making all types of faces at work. not to mention the laughing to myself in a corner with the audiobook playing LOL

two things! rarely do i ever have the same cover as what good reads shows, which makes my second point more sensical. no one told me this was about a frog. 80% of the time i go into the book blind while 20% is based off a one line pitch by friends. this was the former and i can never escape how bizarre my read books look, i fear

the fun of reading 7 books at a time is trying to conclude at least 3, so you can start another one….

The only point of contention for me, is this must be written by someone who isn’t tall. a quick google search would have muted this whole “barely tips his chin down” phrase that can be command F’ed. that height difference means he would be able to kiss her forehead without shifting his head.

i am so curious to the authors chose in switching her character around like this. what was the reason. i am very tempted to dnf from this whiplash.
