This book is historical fiction about the WPA library system in rural Kentucky. It is well written and focus on one woman, Alice a British woman who came to Kentucky after meeting and marrying her husband who was from Kentucky. She along with other brave women deliver books all over the area riding on horse back or mule back.

I am enjoying this book. Strong characters interesting plot. Though all Beverly Lewis books are excellent in my opinion.

This book is so fast paced you won't want to put it down. Love the plot line.

This book is filled the horrors of world war ll. However it also shows the perseverance of people who are willing to stand up and protect those who are unable to protect themselves.

This book is pulls you in and you become immersed in the story. Your heart will break for Kristin as she is forced to say goodbye to her daughter. This is certainly a book I am enjoying.

I am loving this book. I had never read it before only saw the movie. Just wish I had more time to read it in one big chunk. Mark Twain is an awesome writer who really describes the book more like a movie.

I am really enjoying this book. It is so very informative and gives a whole new look at the lives of the women who supported their husbands as they were our Presidents.

This book is heart breaking. I had to put it down at one point because I knew what was going to happen. I sympathize with Ellen, too much on her plate, rushing about and then BAM a terrible accident. It could happen to anyone.
