i went into this book blind, and im happy i did

wow! alot of new life changes i saw here. new places, new storylines

definitely getting into the more positive parts of this story, even though they were in a rough era they managed to grow through it. it definitely showed during the school parts, as they try to imagine a happier world.

very strong read so far, it is helping me learn more about the negative parts of the 50s as i know that era had ALOT of racial discrimination occuring. it's crazy when you compare present day to 50s.

alot of themes of privilege .. i see the contiuation of h*rm go on in this section, and it horrifies me how alcohol is involved.

but it definitely takes a new turn here

so far, i feel like this book describes how society has changed throughout the years of humanity. back then in the 1950s, humans were treated very unfairly and were discriminated by their own skin. the fact that people were being a*used for simple things makes me feel very sad on how we looked at each other as a whole. :(

i will read the next section in a bit, but wow it is a intense start !
