It feels like a lot of side quests going on. Anyone else feel the same?

Strange they’re in the middle of a war and they’re still going to class 🫠

The relationship between Xaden and Violet is absurd. It feels like Yarros wrote herself into a corner with Xaden’s secret life. But she’s made it so that neither character relents and this just makes Xaden look like a gaslighting twat, not some swoon-worthy badass. At this point, their relationship plot is weaker than Violet’s knees.

Honestly, Tyen is probably one of the weakest main protagonist’s I’ve ever read. He’s hypocritical, which makes his character nothing more than a plot driver. It’s really sad because the last book ended so well, with character growth and progression. This one just reads like a slow wade through muddy words until you reach the final book.

Im 131 pages in and wondering when it starts getting good. So far it’s mundane AF.

More plot, less sex, please

Writing is pretty basic. Im glad that I have the TV shows to base the characters off of for sure.
