I picked this up five times without being able to get past the first chapter, but once it was over I Consumedddd

Hear me out- I have a hard time when authors make their characters out to be really amazing and perfect. I think it's because they're trying to get you to want to BE that character and want to put yourself in the story, but I feel like it makes me feel the opposite. Instead, I am so UNLIKE this character that it is hard to relate to her situation and then enjoy her eventual growth and success.

Thank you netgalley, but also I'm already having a really hard time with the "let me tell you everything you need to know and just how great and quirky I am" writing style ...... wish me luck
