this is a very different style of poetry than what i’ve encountered so far. normally instead of giving the life story of the author, this book seems more impersonal (in a good and unique way) like every poem is a prompt that provides fragments to tell our own story with. each word is like a letter magnet that the reader can rearrange to say whatever they want

I love Keating’s obvious disdain for pretentious rating of poetry. He realizes that poetry is a medium that can only be rated by the passion and beauty put into it; a great lesson for the students at Welton as well as the book’s audience.
