I’m struggling and I hate to say that as a KQ girlie. But why are we trying to make all books trendy and they have to reference one of the fantasy authors of today. Also the repetition in this is a lot. I’m so sad.

Reading this in Central Asia (when I can) and just absolutely LOVING how that shapes my understanding and enjoyment.

I’ve never enjoyed the critical thinking a book has forced as much as this one. It’s uncomfy. I’m not sure I agree with all of it but I love that I need to figure out why I don’t. Or why I do. I’m having so much fun.

Listening to a few chapters then reading them because everything needs gone over at least twice.

I’m not okay.

I somehow just deleted my previous review when updating my status on this though????? I did not enjoy it the first time (I forgot how mad I was 😅) but I do think I’m enjoying it more this time… I’m at double speed on audio so maybe that’s helping 😂

Think the adult version of “The Inheritance Games”. A little silly but like actually nuanced. Curiosity piqued. Eager to read more each day.

I forgot how much action there is right out of the gate here. The gang doesn’t miss a beat. Listened while I did a puzzle this morning (I know, who is she?) and just so in love with the witch story line. Wow. My heart.

Oh, this is cringy. I love AJ so going to keep going but if this was my first book of an author it’d be back on the shelf already.

I appreciate that this book is making me think about how women began to work in this country but there’s some themes I’m not loving… we’ll see where it goes!
