A lot of historical groundwork on the lumpen that can get rote but is obviously important but the arguments scattered around and before and after the section of the genetic code are pithy and brilliant openings for future activism

Anh revisiting it after like a year break makes some of the arguments pretty repetitive and asinine… I think this book is mainly for people unfamiliar with the Maoist milieu. May revisit for my review on how effective it is for that purpose but at least was for a younger self.

Both very fruitful but confusing to read this side-by-side with Althusser’s self-criticism

Gets a bit slow in the weeds of historical retellings of the situations of the original lumpen (as Marx and Engels anointed), but I know the upshot will be worth it
