I greatly enjoyed the magic this adult fairytale MZ created! The way she wove together the history and mythology of the town of Mackerel Sky, along with the lives of its colorful characters was simply enchanting. Mermaids, magic, witches, and wisdom captivated my attention. I highly recommend this beautifully written book. Thank you for sharing your gifts, MZ!

Beautiful language - very healing

Wonderful story ! The land of Empis will live in my imagination alongside Oz. I wish I could thank Mr. King, my favorite author for 40 years, for this magical tale of Charlie, Princess Leah, Radar, and this perilous adventure of triumph over evil.

I abandoned it

Great book!! - insidious and insane racism rears it’s ugly head and yet the jokes are funny. After reading this review, go read the book! And - watch The Amber Ruffin Show!
