Final thoughts, great book, especially for those in the queer community or allies who want to better understand others experiences. So the second time Maia gets this procedure, I was expecting it to be bad but not worse. On this page specifically, using just text to describe what's happening speaks volumes. And the next page, wow, I didn't even know a pap smear could cause someone to bleed. This one just absolutely hit me for some reason, not really sure why. The next page with eir mom literally made me cry/tear up, like wow. (1/2)

I could sit here and try to dissect the art on this page but I'm no art major or expert so I'll say this. I believe this moment absolutely warranted two pages of the novel with these depictions of what the pap smear felt like for em. Having never experienced one this makes me a bit scared not honestly. The way the words are written around the subject and the subject gets smaller is, well, art. (1/?)

in a lot of queer spaces and having friends whom use neopronouns (The E, Em, Eir set is called Spivak, I didn't know they could have names tbh). I am a bit conflicted on the fact that the novel jumps around in time. I love all the stories this gives us but it's also a bit had to follow. The Allison Bechdel mention on page 135 reminds me I really need to read fun home (it was a mention that I got surprisingly) (4/?)

Honestly I've realized that there's too much to comment on taking it section by section so I'm just going to go more broadly. This book is so deeply relatable to, honestly anyone, but to me because I'm ace-spec. Although the way the author experiences sexuality and gender is different than me, I still find some likeness. So briefly I wanna say that I love this book! I started reading it after finishing some of my Math 127 (College Algebra Expanded) homework, I finished the book in a little under 1 hour, 45 mins. I'm going to go back through the book and point out some notable moments (before I have to leave the library and actually sleep).

Well, I finally finished the book!!!! Technically I finished it, all but the last page, a long time ago but I wanted to annotate/share my thoughts on it so yah. Great book, love it, will defiantly re-read fully sometime (re-read some to write all this) :))))
