Vitalik and other cofounders of ethereum brought some very abstract ideas together to create a Turing-complete World Computer .

it’s pretty fascinating how that opened the door to defi applications that have real world purpose and are not just another digital currency

Mastering Ethereum: Implementing Smart Contracts

Naz Wright
Naz Wright is starting Mastering Ethereum: Implementing Smart Contracts
ethereum is essentially: a protocol which specifies how its software implementations must be deterministic state machines which operate in a distributed manner and maintain a copy of a logical global state

ethereum vm can run token contracts

meaning other tokens can be created on the same blockchain(unlike btc or doge)

and that tech concept lowkey is the backbone behind the evolution of crypto which is crazy

The book has been great so far, I’ve loved Shelby’s style of writing and character dialogue! It really makes you invested into what happens to the characters.

Tova injures herself while interacting with Marcellus the octopus. The injury makes the Knit-Wits worry about Tova’s safety, as she does not carry a cellphone and goes everywhere alone. One of Tova’s colleagues (apart of the Knit-Wits) recently has moved in with their children. For Tova, this is bittersweet; as it marks the beginning of the end symbolically for her. Her peers can’t care for themselves

Tova has been very conversant with the octopus Marcellus, and you can tell by their interactions that they care for one another! Meanwhile, Cameron Cassmore is on a search for his biological dad in brazen efforts to convince him to provide compensation for his 30 yr hiatus as Cameron’s father. He clings on to anything in efforts to achieve some sort of stability

The book is going great so far! It’s so cool to see the perspective of Marcellus, the bright octopus who is quite intelligent. I am interested to see how Marcellus and Tova connect more in the book; given their first encounter was pretty short but definitely memorable!
