i’m tired of the war part let’s get to peace

i was so bored at first but the author is incredible at writing each point of view: the preoccupation of the mother, robbie’s passion, cecilia’s older sister-ness, and of course brioney’s immature invasions.

i love a book that’s beautifully written and teaches me something

robin and ramy on their day off in london are so cute. just getting sweets and looking at libraries. so far there have been a few disturbing scenes but the plot is so complex and interesting and i love the academic aspect

this book is insanely complex and well written and i love almost everything about it but why is she being so racist to the white people omg

the culmination of every case, every victory, coming down to this! i’m sad it’s close to the end but glad they’ve come to understand each other so perfectly and painfully.

no no no no why is there a love triangle. and there’s no explanation and lucy’s upset and i’m upset! however the ghosts are still cool and i love lucy’s powers they’re really neat!

why is the cover so ugly and the pick-me on lucy’s part is really starting to set in. the mystery in this one is still really good and character development is swell. but it hasn’t passed the bechdel test yet aside from offhand comments 😫

for being written by a man this is so so good; unironically. i love the cozy british setting and all the tea breaks and biscuit rules and i do imagine the netflix cast because it’s so fitting. pretty scary for ya with all the ghost attacks, preserved dead body parts, gruesome and tragic deaths, etc.

nothing will be as good as the first time you read a book :(

i’m obsessed. wes is so so sweet and the banter is fast and just a little mean <3

addie larue level prose but more intellectual. insane banter and chemistry so far !!

despite the long chapters this is actually really captivating. kuang isn’t a great romance writer, which isn’t a problem because she’s an unbelievably good strategist. so far my favorite relationship is rin and kitay (platonic). they’re so different but will sacrifice anything to win the war and keep the other safe <3

i didn’t think i would like a war book this much, but the strategies are so cool and the training scenes are so good

giving badass and dumbass at the same time

so mundane but pleasant. jane is the perfect heroine because she was so stubborn as a child and grew to keep her spirit but gain elegance. also the setting? cottages, gothic boarding schools, an endless estate
