I'm hitting pause on this one. The male narrator is driving me nuts, and I'm kinda bored—esp with the asleep/awake chapters—and don't care how it ends atp. I might go back to finish it when I'm done with my next book.

I'm pausing this one at 11%. Not DNFing it because I might be interested in it later, but I think Katabasis turned me off magic school settings for a minute, just couldn't get into it.

There are SO MANY "and just like that"s in this book that I am almost certain it is part of a secret advertising campaign dreamed up by HBO Max.

Unfortunately I've hit the part of the audiobook where the majority of the remaining chapters will be read by a voice actor I do not enjoy. I also have the ebook and physical book rn and I'm tempted to make this super complicated. I'll try slowing down these sections first, maybe they'll be better at 1.0x.
