Iris is suffering through ppd, and I relate to her in so many ways. She had a baby she didn’t *know* if she even wanted. I remember feeling that way with Rayna. I love Rayna with all my heart, but I remember the doubt that would creep in at night, while pregnant and during postpartum. It was suffocating. Not knowing whether you’re a terrible mom or if you’re just emotional and hormonal.

Emmet is the epitome of an abuser. I don’t think I can read this with a clear mind. He’s literally gaslighting Riley. Love-bombing her. Ugh. Why can’t authors write normal, nice love interests? Like in Fantasy, I love me an Alpha-hole MMC. But in real life contemporary? It’s not it. I think if I’d read this book 5 years ago it would have been fine. Now, not so much.

Intrigued so far. Magic systems are a bit confusing but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it

Good so far- though it isn’t keeping my interest super peaked. I think it’ll definitely be a 3.5 or 4 star at this rate.

Good so far. It’s taking me a long time to get through it, but that’s just because life is busy. Also, I’ve been craving reading more historical romances right now, so just haven’t been super in the mood for this one.
