Amazingly coherent description about turning of tides in how people thought the western world changed for the worst in the '70's and how the pessimistic philosophies academics liked to quote and the press wanted to stir up to get more readers actually didn't correspond to how ordinary people saw the world - how satisfied they were, etc. and how little the world was close to collapsing, unlike the popular opinion.
