Very intrigued about the Magnificent North it was mentioned in authors previous series. Also I love that the main character is kind and hopeful even in the face of all of the bad things. It's very refreshing honestly.

The Cyrus crumbs are driving me insane. I barely know anything about him but am so obsessed. I just want to learn more about him and his deal with Iblees. Like this devil is using Cyrus to provoke Alizeh into doing its bidding. And when when Alizeh takes over the kingdom I wonder if it's going to try and take her powers away.

Literally Alizeh's and Cyrus's interactions have made me put down the book and run a few laps. It's so unhinged. Mafi does banter like no other idc what anyone says

Bro I am eating this up this series. I haven't been this excited to read in awhile. I can't wait to see this story progress now that Kamran has to take the throne and Alizeh has a chance at bringing the jinn back to power. I also need to know what Cyrus's deal with Iblees was.

Things are picking up finally. And damn I knew something was off with Hazan. Excited to see what happens at this Royal Ball. Seriously the atmosphere is amazing. It's like being transported to a different world. Even when there is no crazy action you can still experience something otherworldly and escape from your reality.

The way I am eating this up!? I really love the Persian mythology and folklore. The hidden heir troupe always awakens something ungodly from me. Mafi really does have a way with her words. Some passages I am in awe and in others I am very confused by LMFAO. Nonetheless I am going to finish this quickly

Heart wrenching...Like putting kids on the duty of collecting food from farmers forcibly with their dragons and then having to decide who gets that food based off of ones class. At the end of the day, in this book dragons are seen as merely tools and weapons and as not characters. As dragons are used, to get to a means to an end. Whoever has the dragons has the power. It doesn't matter which side is right or wrong.

Bro the angst between Annie and Lee. And both their character development. is so well done. Both compelling characters in their own right. This book is going at a bit of a slower pace but with good world-building and build up toward the main conflict I don't mind. My only gripe honestly is the chapter length. Way to long and drags out the pacing into something its really not but it feels like it...

I love the discussion of a class system based on merit and it's downfalls despite the "fairness" that it offers. People are still not provided the same resources to move up in class. Even when people do move up there is still a stigma one carries if they were previously from a lower class. Munda shows how similar words can have a different meaning and intent. For example, opponent and enemy or penalty and kill.

I am loving the political intrigue and dragon riding aspect. The perspectives of Annie and Lee offer a lot to this story. They're both orphans turned dragon riders as apart of a new program post revolution. One fights the people who degrade her every step of the way despite her merits. And the other has a secret identity thus having to navigate his loyalty to his family once survivors of old rule show up.

Absolutely brilliant I love the jumping around of POV's from protesters to the people running the cape program. It's scope is wide and keeps me gripped. The footnotes are very informative as well. I do need to be in a certain mood to read this though but its an amazing read

The footnotes this author puts in about Incarceration are informative. Like some stats about demographics and general facts. There were notes about the psychological implications of solitary confinement as well which made me think differently about it. I get to read a story and learn about the real world prison system in the same breath. This is a very solid read. The narrators are amazing too!

I love the concept of Blood Points and how it connects violence for profit. Its capitalist in nature. Because the more points you have, the more resources you have access to. In this case, its armor, weapons, and food. The fighter has a better chance to progress. Same way someone wealthier has a better chance of progressing in society. Loretta counters the system designed to pit them against each other by sharing.

Bro I am already invested. Prisoners fighting to the death while being televised for a chance at freedom!? Great Premise. The author does an excellent job of explaining the history of this dystopian world (near future), the technology used, and how the privatized prison system works all while keeping a fast pace with action scenes from the battleground. I also love its critiques, LGBTQ rep, and themes at play.

The prose isn't doing it for me it takes me out of the story at times. But I gotta say I do like the murder-mystery aspect to this story and how everything is slowly unraveling. The technology mentioned is not only interesting but also conceivable in the long future. I do like the frequent POV switches as it keeps the story engaging and you get a tab of what the other characters are doing away from each other.

Oh shit now we got a murder mystery on top of a conspiracy theory that the U.S. used geonavigation technology that sent a heat wave over to the middle east killing millions. And now Tully has to see if these things are connected. Wow a slow start but things are picking up fast

This is a very conceivable future. It's eerie reading about it. I mean climate change impacting the world and the way we interact with others (using technology for interactions to avoid the heat.) Naturally, climate change displaces others and only the poor suffer for it. Now, there is an election for protector of the world and one of the final two candidates is AI! I'm very intrigued to say the least.
