Slowly getting the hype. Not as love-at-first-chapter as Percy Jackson, but honestly love the characters. Hermione is a boss and she’s iconic!

After reading 70 pages of this book today, I am slowly losing it. It’s ok tho, cuz it’s only 11:56pm and I have but 57 pages to go 😭🤓

Really struggling to get into this; let’s hope it starts to get more interesting to me. I do like Fanny Price a lot tho. The number of character in this book is just too confusing, and I keep getting lost on who’s who and who’s connected to who in what way. Maybe I’m just falling asleep while reading too much (I need to fix my sleep schedule). 😭😭😭

We are getting there and this book is growing on me a lot! I feel like the characters are friends that I don’t want to leave now 😢 especially Frannie and Larry and Stu.

So far I have no idea what my rating for this book is going to be! I can’t tell if I love or am indifferent to Rooney’s writing style, but I applaud her for writing in such a unique style nonetheless; it is refreshing to have a book with such a different style. Some of her descriptions are so vivid as well. Ex: “a bumblebee flew through the open window and cast a comma shadow on the wallpaper…” (98).

Not to be dramatic or anything (I’m obviously going to be dramatic) but this book reminds me how much I love Spanish. Like being able to read in Spanish now is such a nice feeling. I just read the Conexiones chapter of this book, and it was so moving! I am amazed that Panchito worked so hard in school and even got himself a job (not rly a spoiler). The fact that this is a memoir makes it that much more incredible!
