Was so close to finishing this one but it and the 2nd were spoiled for me and I just don't want to go to where I know this will lead. Enjoyed it until that happened.

Pushing through but I've wanted to DNF since the second chapter. I kept hoping it would get better but.. Technically it lives up to the synopsis, but it's not done well. Prudence is insufferably written and the MMC isn't much better. Best line so far "And for your information, I'm a grower." Yes, the MMC says it. And yes, the FMC says its tiny. Is this relevant *shrugs* only thing that stands out from the book.

Apparently, I DNF’d this June 21, 2023 at 39%. Started over and clawed my way to 80%. It’s never taken me this long to read a Feehan book. Probably my least favorite so far. So much repetition and rambling. I get who Teagan was meant to be, but it didn’t land. If not for sheer willpower to clear my TBR, I’d have DNF’d again. For the love of God—Teagan, shut up.

This book had potential. At first, I was enjoying it but somewhere along the way it becomes overhyped and tediously drawn out. The ending has been spoiled, and even that's not enough to keep me focused on it.

I never stop mid read to check trigger spoilers... but I did. It's not even the dark fd up stuff that made me do it. No it's the unwanted person for me... why is he included!!!

That being said, this book was weirdly a lot & kind of nothing at the same time. I have no idea how to even rate it. Def could have been better. The vibe of this book is like a cupcake that fell into a gallon of sprinkles that was smushed flat with a hammer then topped with beer. It doesn't make sense but isn't the worst thing ever.

Re-read from at least 12 years ago. Recalled very little about it other than I had enjoyed it. Not fully certain if nostalgia makes me remember it more fondly or if the progress of the genre and my reading taste make me look upon it with a bit more scrutiny. Either way I still liked it, but not as much as I thought I would and the ending was so abrupt I thought my book was missing pages.

I just can't. I really dislike Teagan and the whole boring and over explaining stuff just ruined my vibe. This book feels so much more forced than any of the others I've read from this series. Going to DNF and try again at a different time when my mood is better. Maybe then Teagan won't annoy me so much.

Verge of DNF. 10 pages of the h going on about climbing. 1st she talks about how it makes her ignore everything else, then she is "mentally" in tedious detail climbing the rock, while needlessly using jargon & talking about her shoes that "most people would find too small but once they warm up she likes them". 1st who cares? 2nd seems like filler and jargon dropped in to make her seem like she is knowledgeable. ehh

Arduous. Between the amount of times I put this book down and the level of willpower it took not to DNF... I'm not sure it should even count as completed. This is might be it for me when it comes to Tiktok recs. I'd like to say it was just me being in a bad mood but this book was boring cliche and cringe. I didn't even enjoy the smut. I just wanted to skip. Maybe this author just isn't for me. Not going to review.

Ehh. Booktok strikes again. One spicy tidbit that in the full context of the story is just rather "okay".

The story as a whole so far is meh. The Fmc gets upset at the Mmc because he's keeping a secret. Big 👁 roll. She's not only admitted to lying him but was still lying. Plus the whole on the run, gotta protect her stuff feels empty and not fleshed out.

I'm unsure if it's just me feeling some kind of way but this book felt longer than it needed to be and was a bit tedious to get through. All in all I liked the MC the FMC was okay but also kinda annoying.

I am trying to burn through my older TBR and didn't pay attention to who wrote this. I forgot how good Laurann Dohner is. Super refreshing. It's a smut filled Buffy-like story. And it's well written. Sligh dubious consent in the beginning but not really since they both wanted it. She just thinks she's taking advantage of him.

1st: If I ever read the words Lady juice again, I might lobotomize myself.
2nd: Out of the blue, towards the end FMC has MC getting her off with his amputated leg. I've read some "things" but this shocked me because where the fuck did this come from?
Combine the above with bad smut, almost 0 plot and a failed attempt at the Daddy kink/trope = Me having nothing nice to say so I'm not gonna review it.

Forcing myself to finish it. It's impossible not to compare any book in this kink to Laylah Roberts. She's a master at this kind of relationship. And while I like insta love and smut etc this is bordering on cringe for me.

The revelation has revelations. I didn't like the twist at first (maybe I still don't) but the 2nd one has my head spinning and yikes.

I really like the MCS. Fox is still a loveable psycho & even more endearing. But the relationship aspect feels a bit off or unbalanced. The book is a slow burn but also not. The mf +mmf stuff is slow but the mm is pretty quick. Also I've found a handful of times where it's dragging on and I'm just waiting from something to happen.

I don't like it.... I kinda like it.... okay it's not what I wanted for this character but somehow, I have a stupid ear to ear smile on my face....

Not what I was expecting.... Not sure how I feel about it. It's not bad just different and not what I expected for the FOX's story.

I literally just snorted in laughter this book has no idea what the leads name is. I'm about to dnf and lose a dare. Like I read taboo weird stuff sometimes but ....

I never say stuff like this but...the FMC is dumb. All the way up to this point the MMC has outright stated his love for her. Everyone around him admitted the MMC has always loved her. Just a scene ago she looks back over pictures & realized how he's always loved her. Now all of a sudden she's breaking it off bcuz she thinks his protective instincts made her seem more important to him then she really was? Like wtf?

She better not be forgiving him! Idk how this gets resolved but this guy better grovel and move the heavens. Book one stuff I can excuse and forgive cause the dark romance genre trained me well but this stuff... Oh hell no.

Nope. I am not okay with this. The blurb of the 3rd book was what had me wanting to read his "series" not sure I can take it if it's in the same range as this book. He's into ABDL. Apparently picturing her in a diaper does it for him. I'm trying hard not to kink shame and stuff but the man literally wants her to use diapers & enjoys the humiliation aspect of it. I think I need to go back to dark romance. But dnf?
