This book is unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s raw, it takes risks with graphic scenes. I’m loving the way Vargas Llosa writes characters and their inner dialogue. It’s messy and unpredictable, sometimes it can get a bit confusing, but it is the best depiction of human thoughts I’ve ever seen. He goes beyond limits, taking characters and scenes to ridiculous lengths but somehow it works beautifully.
