I’m once again asking why vin and Elend are together when they genuinely don’t understand each other and criticize the others choices. Being in love is not a valid argument, these two shouldn’t be together

Feeling less hateful today, so a slightly more unbiased update today. I’m genuinely really enjoying Sazed’s chapters, and learning more about the kandra. However I feel like Vin is being handed the answers to everything by just “educational guessing”. Like honestly a few of the things she’s saying I’m like how can you just be so sure that you’re right and then you are right. It’s just unrealistic

Apologies for the constant updates but I think Elend is so stupid and I think that Vin is stupid for being with him, anyways moving on

I am once again here to say that while I understand Straff is intentionally gross, I do not want to read about an old man sexualizing teenagers, thank you very much

Okay NO not them acting like her being 15 is her being younger and prettier than Vin who is also only 18, that’s a CHILD lowkey why has not one character pointed out how gross this is other than Vin ????

Okay again, I understand that it’s trying to show the characters dominance and power but I genuinely feel sick reading about a 15 year old being used for sex by an old man🫠

Petition for grown men to not write books with teenage female protagonists

“Why haven’t you married him?” Maybe because she’s 17/18, has only known him for a year, is 5 years younger than him, doesn’t really know him or totally trust him but says she loves him, I could go on

Elend has said at least 5 times that he doesn’t understand Vin and that he’s trying to figure her out, why are you together if you literally don’t know each other? It’s been over a year?

“She’s not that young” sir she is literally 18 and you are in your 40s wtf do you mean

Okay I’ve been looking it up and people seem to be generally chill with all the weird age gaps in this series??? Why is the narrator calling an 18 year old “a cute thing” and why is she with a ~40 year old man? It truly couldn’t have been that hard to make her like 30 and move on, it would not change the story. Like we’re okay with sexualizing women as long as it’s not Vin I guess??

Popping back in to say that I’m sick and tired of every woman being 18 in this damn series. I get that men are creepy but I’d rather not read about it constantly, god forbid a woman over the age of 30 exists in this narrative

Oh my god why are vin and Elend together? It barely even seems like they like each other most of the time

I also need to add that it’s so weird that sex seems to be brought up a lot when it comes to the rich old men characters and never for anyone else. Like I understand that it’s being used to represent control and power but it’s just gross when it involves minors and not really adding much to the narrative when it’s written in strangely, it feels like a 12 year old swearing to try and prove that they are cool

I understand that Straff is the bad guy, but why is this part written “she has been quite attractive a decade before, but now she was creeping up into her late twenties” so this man is just a casual child predator? Why is this just glossed over? Assuming she’s like 26-27 calling her old is insane, like Elend is only a few years younger than her
