I am like beside myself at how insightful his connection between violence and power and humanity and the way he talks about the making of killers of the flower moon & how much thought & deep critique of both society and the power every single person has to enact violence. Sooooo good. I’ll definitely revisit this one with a highlighter ASAP

If you don’t lead a truly Christian life, then church is not where you make up for your sins. You do it in the streets and you do it at home and if you say that you do it once a week in church and in confession, then you’re lying to yourself. Transubstantiation… has to resonate throughout the rest of the world…we ourselves have to take responsibility for making it happen through our actions.

Justice is what love looks like in public, just like tenderness is what love feels like in private. We need to take it to the streets

This is how things get transformed. Our tenacity in tenderness, then, ripens us and propels us all to live in the luminous and infinite now. Only tenderness keeps us attentive to delight.

As we asses things, we tend to ask, “what would jesus do?” But it’s perhaps more clarifying to ask “Does god agree with us?”

To hold the tenderness long enough, so as to not spill it en root. We all taste eternity when person merges with person. We need to find ourselves poised to enter into a relationship with anyone anywhere.
