Listening to the Succession soundtrack whilst reading this is unbelievably cinematic

Wow, it has been a while since a book has taken me so long to read! Moby Dick is quite the novel - brimming with information about nautical life that is probably going way over my head ! However - I am thoroughly enjoying this. It is essential I take my time with it.

I think I might abandon goodreads. I will still use it as a source for looking at reviews etc. but I keep forgetting to update it and will now just write down what I read and when on a piece of paper. Unless I want to review something then I will update

Also I’m about halfway through my copy and Zhuiago and Lara have barely encountered each other. But their love affair is supposed to be the central plot point?? I am loving all the snowstorms though

Will I ever finish this book? The question remains….

Dear fellow goodreads users (aka a brother and perhaps a few friends), I have decided to enter a period of familiarity. By this I mean that I will only be rereading favourite books, or just books I've already read in general, for now. This may seem silly as I have a very large number of books sitting, collecting dust and occasional looks of longing from myself, unread. But all I can think about is rereading.

Reading very slowly. Perhaps the slowest I have ever gone through a novel, but I want to take my time with this one. It's a very deep work that involves lots of pausing and thinking. Maybe another month with Nietzsche....
