What is it with irish authors and quotation marks urgh its so confusing cus its an omniscient narrator that will tell us the characters names even strangers but they’re focused characters wont know them but it will say the strangers name as though they know them urgh

The constantly grotesque or unsettling images constantly being brought up in every moment gives the impression of the narratif having intrusive thoughts she can’t control. It kind of reminds me of the style of writing of the Virgin suicides

So easy to get into, love the creepy atmosphere
