Rather than thinking of it as a critique on communist theory, which Rand seems to have intended, I have been looking at it more of the dangers of becoming apathetic in today’s society. It speaks to the dangers of allowing your mind to be conquered by the state and nationalism, so much so that you have no defining qualities any longer. We, humans, are the gods of our fate. “This god, this one word: I.” (Pg 97)
