I forgot how much Taryn had liked stories until I reread the series again. I can see why she had a fascination with Locke because of it.

“Half of my men never made it out” Cardan broke his no kill rule to get Jude back 😭

“He isn’t just trying to take Cardan’s throne. He’s trying to take mine” MUHAHAHA SHES BACK GUYS

Boy basically confessed his feelings, left her speechless and then proceeded to get her food and tea… what a man 👏🏻

“Kiss me as though I were Cardan” eugh ✋🏻 sir that’s weird

Told Amy that I would wait to read this one with her. Let’s see if I can still catch up 😂😂

Jude’s playing with the fishies now I guess. (Also I want a drawing of Jude at Taryn’s wedding, I feel like I’ve never really seen a drawing of her with that look, except for the ram horns hairdo- would be cool to see, and so wish I could draw how I envision it)

A sweet way to wrap up this book. I will say, I wish we got to see a bit more of Harold’s relationship with God, as well as his faith, but it was nice to see him grow and not be afraid to build relationships and be compassionate with others in the end.

Time for Holy Harry’s book, let’s go.

I got teary eyed on this one. Marjie and Stanley’s story is such a tough one. They’ve loved each other for awhile, but felt there was no way for them to be together. Reading Stanley’s story as he struggles with PTSD, after returning home from the battle of Waterloo and his struggle of his idea of honor, and Marnie’s side as she wants to help him out of the darkness of his mind and heart. Well written.

“I doubt Marie Antoinette looked half so tragic on her way to the guillotine” well that’s certainly one way to start a book.

A harder book for me to get into at first. Was not a fan of Jason in the last book, and disliked him at the beginning of this story. I loved Mariposa’s character and I’m glad for both of their character developments throughout this story. Had a sweet ending. (I also realized that in the span of about half a year, the 4 brothers all got married- 5 if you include Crispin- they crazy)

There were so many small moments in this book that adored or found humorous, but overall this story has a very serious tone. Poor Corbin though, please don’t listen to your brother’s bad advice 😭
So glad to see Adam make an appearance, even if it was small. I loved the last chapter of what happens after they’re married! Shows they still struggle, but they help and care for each other.

Muhahaha I finally found a pdf. Corbin is so twitterpated. Poor guy

I don’t own the book nor could I find a pdf, so I just got the preview for now- but oh my goodness, poor Corbin, he is so shy 😭

UGH this book hit me in the feels. Of all her books, this one touches the most on faith, sin, the church and having a relationship with God, which I was not expecting but really enjoyed! Layton’s struggle over his sin and how he felt God hated him, to the realization that God forgives and has grace was sweet to see. Very much looking forward to Corbin’s book as well.

Ugh just finished this. Overall, I really liked this book. I think because Philip is so intriguing and important for the overall series, it was so cool to see his main thoughts. I also liked Sorrel, and meeting her family was really sweet. I love that their relationship didn’t feel too rushed? Might be my favorite of this series and it’s only book 1.

I have to write a third note cuz WOW. If you had asked me when I read the Lancaster series what Philip’s profession was, or what he did for a living, I would not have been able to tell you. Starting this book is wild but so intriguing. I think I will enjoy this one immensely. (Reading this after TCP and CoB is also interesting 😂)

Plot twist- I knew Philip liked to wear a “mask” or rather a facade… and thought it was due to grief that he was trying to cover…. WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT

I’ve been waiting to read this book since Loving Lieutenant Lancaster IM SO READY FOR PHILIPS LOVE STORY (I lowkey love Philip, he’s another Henry in this series for me- there shall be no Philip slander in this household)
