Everything that went wrong in the gilded cage was kiva’s fault what a stupid bitch, but if she wasn’t so stupid there would be no plot, which even with her stupidity there kind of isn’t. How could the author base her entire storyline on the fmc’s stupidity and expect people to like it I’ll never know

Not to mention the dedication kinda got to me

I did say i wasn’t going to read the third book, but i kinda wanna know what happens😐😊🥱

Off topic but i start to fear reading books that were too hyped a few years ago because they would be enjoyable for my 16 years old selfnot 20 years old like shatter me, caraval and whatnot i fear that i would outgrow them and many others

The fmc just has to be what the characters admire her in the book for, portray that instead. Because it doesn’t make sense

Demands that, like paedyn’s character for instance, they all be making them appear badasses instead of actually making them badasses like aelin ashryver galathynius for instance the love of my life

what really saved the first book is the plot twists near the end but that’s it mostly. Also, kiva doesn’t have to be like a badass knife yielding protagonist for the fandom to like her, because i think this is starting to get out of style as it’s rarely being portrayed right by the author, they’re just giving them all the same traits and make them idolized by the other characters because they know the fandom

Overall i think this series is fun, it’s just nothing special but it’s still really flawed with kiva’s idiotic behavior and whatnot (and many other things) but i think i just had way more expectations for it, i hope kiva’s character improves during the last book, but i can tell an author doesn’t know how to write good convincing characters and plots when i see one.

This is way more fun than writing a review when the book ends

No because i am genuinely so mad, the second book in a trilogy is almost always the best, and the first one was slow at first but it improved but this one reminded why kiva annoyed me in the prison healer but ive grown to like her, throughout it. Now im back to hating her useless guts

I swear nothing i hate more than dumb female main characters that constantly need saving and are portrayed as awesome and exceptional when they re mediocre at best, and everyone is awed by them and she s being presented as kind and loyal while she’s just pissing me off, because writing her character this way was the author’s way to make a plot, which is why that failed her

Not to mention the plot doesnt convince me at alllll, literally what is happening why do u care about a throne that is no longer yours, when the entire family holding the throne are literal angels

The real villain in this whole book is kivaa, oh my god i hate her
