okay, WHERE IS THE TENSION?? this is a cool set up for a book, but there is literally no stakes. or there are actually a lot of stakes, but you don’t feel ANY of it!?

i think part of why i love kingfisher so much is because their humor reminds me of one of my beloved coworkers and it’s simply so nice to get a little dose of them throughout their books
