So good!!!!

Mary’s time with the Gardiners is teaching her how the environment we exist in can effect how much of yourself you’re willing to give away. With a more accepting and loving community around her, instead of people constantly forcing her to take up less space, she has embraced a new, more sociable part of herself. One with more happiness and freedom to feel.

She has started to become enlightened to what the true cause of happiness is, and she’s finally realizing that she’s capable of feeling it. Happiness comes from yourself, and you can put yourself in positions that set you up for future happiness rather than ensuring your continual sadness through refusing to change from incredibly painful patterns and mindsets. Mary is relearning everything in this book. Healing.

Mary has continually tried to fit into the box her family has shoved her into because of their lack of acknowledgement towards her talents and pursuits, along with their overall alienation of her as a person. She has normalized and taught herself that the misery she suffers is deserved because she doesn’t possess her sisters’ beauty and a lively personality. So glad she’s starting to break those molds!

I’m really enjoying it so far! I just always have a good time reading Christie’s novels. I can’t wait to find out everything that happened tomorrow!

I can’t believe I didn’t realize until two chapters in that it’s CARTER from the Appies!! I never would’ve put it together if I wasn’t reminded.

Loving it so far! I just adore the way Christie writes mysteries, and I LOVE Poirot’s character.

Enjoying it just as much as my first time reading it!

I like how the author didn’t shy away from more creepy descriptions even though it’s targeted towards a younger audience.
