I do not see the romance. Mr. Rochester is a manipulative brute. It is totally sexual harassment (granted this is modern eyes). I do not see the romance - I see infatuation.

I do not understand why she’d leave without her wages and enough to sustain her. How could driver take her every last Penny and leave her in middle of nowhere.

It was a very discombobulated read. There seemed to be a disconnect. I really liked his nursery crime series but I feel nothing towards Thursday Next.
