I'm not liking the professor much.

So, looks like Axel, our main character, is maybe 19-20 years old? Assuming it was set in the present day, that is. He says he was "not born until 19 years afterwards" when the Professor mentioned an 1825 visit from a peer.

I recently rewatched Brendan Fraser's Journey to the Center of the Earth, which made me realize that I still haven't read the book to this day. It wasn't in our reading list when I was in high school or college, so there's that. Let's see how this goes.

Currently feeling like antivax material which isn't what I signed up for, but I'm willing to be more open-minded about this.

I have no words for how much I hate this MC, I really don't. She keeps making dumb decision after dumb decision.

It's so bad. At this point, I'm only reading to find out how it ends. But it really is so bad. The dialogue is convoluted and the people don't seem real at all.
