Probably a very good read but very difficult as an audiobook - the narration is slow, flat and reserved and the chapters run into each other. I'll park it for now and maybe borrow a paper copy later.

4. Singer provides evidence that people give more when we know others are doing the same, and that being open about what we give has potential to increase giving from our peers. He notes that this is in conflict with what Jesus says in Matthew 6 about not broadcasting our giving. Compromise: discuss our giving in private settings?

2. I should support some more effective charities which specifically address extreme poverty

3. Perhaps giving 10% of my income to the local church is not particularly effective and I will consider reallocating. Peter uses the teaching of Jesus (surprise!) to posit that helping those in poverty is absolutely integral to Christianity
