I’M SORRY but her trying to convert people to “Earthseed” might just be too much for me.

This book is frustrating me. The main character is one of the most unlikable characters I’ve ever encountered. The content feels flat (which should be IMPOSSIBLE). There are so many potentials: character development, social commentary, and overall good storytelling that feel more and more like red herrings than plot points.

It’s getting worse…

As of right now, this is close to a 4 star read. If the book continues to focus on the politics of the war rather than the seemingly non-serious turbulence of the main relationship, it might maintain that rating.

A majority of this book thus far has consisted of the main character and her love interest arguing…about whether or not they can have sex. An argument that Yarros has set up to last throughout this work (and the prior, and.. the next?) Hopes? Lingering slightly above the gutter.

I cannot pin point exactly why (or maybe I can, and just can’t find kind words to do so) but I am tiring of this series quickly. Not sure I’ll be able to get through this one.
