The stories I've read so far have been overall pretty good and the excerpts have me wanting to reach out for the full books. My favorite so far was Smee and it took a couple of readings of Home Burial for me to really appreciate it, but I am looking forward to the remaining stories. We skipped ahead on two already but I've gone back to sequential order.

Finished the titular story. "The universe began as an enormous breath being held." Kind of a sad story, but also touching. I can see why it was chosen as the premier tale.

End of chapter 2. Resist the urge to do database-driven or class-driven design. The presented text-based specification approach is appealing and captures all of our concerns in a way that remains readable by domain experts. Complexity can be captured early by listening to domain experts carefully. Ubiquitous language is crucial to ensure correct understanding between domain experts and devs.

Chapter 1 read. Takeaways are ubiquitous language, shared domain mental models, bounded contexts and their relationships represented by context maps (corresponding to subdomains), problem vs solution space, event storming, and domain events + workflows and their associated commands. DDD feels like an iteration on agile, cutting out intermediaries and focusing on collaboration. Core over supporting/generic domains.

Finished the titular story. It was great. It makes me want to go back and read Finder's Keepers and Mr. Mercedes. Only one more story left!
