I think I misinterpreted the description of this book - I expected this to read more like a cultural study and analysis of the institution of marriage rather than a personal memoir. Some of the dynamics she describes early on in her relationship would have been major red flags for me and I never would have gone ahead with the wedding 😬 so I'm not sure how I will feel about any of her conclusions.
