Don't mind me, just mainlining one of these a day until further notice.

I read nothing else as slowly as I read Dorothy Dunnett, but it's the destination is worth the snail's pace.

Rereading before tackling King Hereafter, Dorothy Dunnett's retelling of the story, because I realized it's been 14 years or so since I've read Macbeth. >_<

This was NOT a good audiobook choice while in the midst of a pandemic, yeesh.

I know Goodreads recommendations are ridiculous, but this is a new low: "Because you read Three Dark Crowns, check out Betsy-Tacy by Maud Hart Lovelace!" Hoo boy. Isn't there some kind of algorithm that can help at least a *little*?

Working furiously in order to have time to read furiously in order to meet my annual reading challenge. One book left to go!

I've been lulled into a false sense of security after reading a bunch of short audiobooks so I keep upping my reading challenge. I wonder if Goodreads realizes the incredible driving force that is a "You are two books behind" notification...

Sorry for the feed spam! I wanted to catch up on all my book reviews, and I *think* I finally managed it, even if I gave some books short shrift.

And now the mad, last-minute dash to meet my 2017 reading goal commences!

"You're one book behind on your reading challenge." Every time I go on vacation. I'm clearly taking the wrong kinds of vacations.

Gagh. This is terrible. What happened to this series?

Uppin' the reading challenge since I've had the wonderful luxury of reading more than I expected this year! I don't remember when last that happened.

Goodreads just emailed me to say, "Congratulations, you've finished The Wise Man's Fear!" Yes. I know. I'm the one who just marked it as finished. They've never emailed me before. What gives? Do I get congratulations because it was such a long book?

Here's a question for you readerly sort: how many books do you read at a time and why?

I usually have three books going: the main book I'm reading, an audiobook for when I'm driving/working on something mindless, and a book my husband and I read aloud to each other one chapter at a time. Sometimes I'll have an ebook in the works too, but usually four or more books at a time feels like too much of a juggling act.
