Re-reading this treasure in honor of it’s 100th birthday next month. A forever favorite book 😍

The unfortunate side effect of reading Morrison is that when you read her prose you finally get a glimpse of what metaphors and figurative language could and should be and suddenly you’re dissatisfied with how everyone else uses them :(

Everything else is a little ruined in comparison

This was a play for about 20 pages. I like to think that Scott, too, got bored of what he was writing and decided to spice it up for himself hoping it’d spice it up for the reader

Turns out I like Fitzgerald even when his protagonists kinda suck

Really generous of James Baldwin to invent written language. Such an innovative mind.

Huge fan of the way this book suddenly turned into a play and the characters took turns soliloquizing their souls bare to the reader
