MrDalloway is starting Specters of Marx
that part where derrida basically says that hamlet was speaking to marx is one of the most aggressively liberal arts things i’ve ever read

Very Proustian 🤔, but in a deeply psychological way.

My professor: “And now it seems to have turned into a comedy of errors...”
Literally everyone in class: “Mmm no maybe Ainsworth just should’ve stuck to law”

I might be the only one invested in the Victorian James Patterson’s criminal universe but if anyone has any Thames/Jack smut please send it my way :)

11 pages in and this is already A+++ characterization, pacing, body horror, queer undertones...so, so good. Please don’t go downhill :)

Thus far the writing is, of course, so deliciously tactile that it makes me want to write something...but the mammoth wall of exposition is maybe not the most deft example of worldbuilding I’ve read from Karen Russell.

MrDalloway is on page 92 of 294 of There There
(on the prologue) The collective 1st person links blocks of time: we move from the urbanization of the Indian Relocation Act to massacres to cyberspace in non-linear leaps threaded by the memory of violence and commodified subjectivization. If the “political” signifies the way people organize together, then at least in the case of There There the political cannot be divorced from the novel’s construction.
